This morning I pulled out a 1-in-long stub of hair that was most decidedly gray. I was putting my hair up and noticed this one little strand didn't shine quite right. It was just... too bright.
This is cause for great concern: my mother didn't start getting her first white hairs until she was in her 40s. My hair is my greatest vanity. It's black, thick, and straight. It's so shiny that flash photography reflects off of it as white. It's so slippery that I've stopped going to hairdressers to get up-dos because I have trouble walking out the door while high on hairspray. Also, my favorite party trick is taking a 1/8th-in-thick strand, tying four knots, one around the other, and shaking the strand for ten seconds. The knots fall right out on their own.
Law school, I curse you.
